From northern Germany:
You may leave the train in Cologne (Köln) and take a direct connection to Bad Honnef, which is located
on the right bank of the Rhine. Get off at Bad Honnef main station (Hauptbahnhof). Some trains stop earlier
at Rhöndorf, which is even closer to the Physikzentrum. Fast trains (ICEs) stop in Siegburg. From there
take the Tram line 66 to Bad Honnef.
From the train station in Rhöndorf:
The Physikzentrum is within walking distance (about 10 minutes). Alternatively, you may take a
taxi (approximately 5-10 EUR). Taxi numbers for Bad Honnef and Rhöndorf: +49 2224 2222 or +49 2224 2121.
From Bonn:
Take a taxi from the front of the Bonn central station to the Physikzentrum Bad Honnef (distance about 18 km, fare
roughly 25 EUR), or use the tram/commuter line No. 66 towards Bad Honnef. Follow the blue "U" signs ("Stadtmitte/Stadtbahn")
to the underground station (level –2, platform 4: "Bad Honnef / Regierungsviertel"). Departures run every 10 minutes (every
10–20 minutes on Saturdays, and every 30 minutes on Sundays and in the evening). Travel time is about 35 minutes.
The final stop, "Am Spitzenbach", is within walking distance from the Physikzentrum (about 400 m: cross the bridge over the
highway, then keep left and walk through the public garden). Please note: every second train terminates earlier in Königswinter. If you exit there by mistake, simply wait for the next train to "Am Spitzenbach". Your ticket remains valid.
Alternatively, from Rhöndorf you may take a taxi (distance approx. 1.5 km) or take bus 566. Your train ticket is also
valid for the bus. Get off at the third stop, "Messbeuel", directly in front of the Physikzentrum Bad Honnef.

take the commuter train (S-Bahn) No.12 direction Köln-Nippes to Troisdorf (duration 3 min). From Troisdorf take the
RegionalExpress train to Rhöndorf (duration 20 min). The Physikzentrum is now within walking distance. Alternatively
take the commuter train No. 66 from Sigburg to Bad Honnef. The train station "Am Spitzenbach" (duration from Siegburg
57 min) is in walking distance (400 m, brigde over highway and left-of-way, cross the public garden) to the
Physikzentrum. Alternative tip: One of the world’s most beautiful train journeys takes you along the Rhine Valley. If you have some extra time, try a train route that goes through Wiesbaden Hbf, Mainz-Kastel, and Koblenz before arriving in Bad Honnef/Rhöndorf. You can easily book tickets online on the German Train Company (Deutsche Bahn DB) website.
